Wal’s Wanderers Impromptu Ride 30/03/08

Wal and Lee decided on Saturday to organise an impromptu ride for Sunday, due to no official Ulysses rides being on the Ride Calendar.

Wal emailed all the people he had email address’s and phoned a couple of others to see if anyone would like to join them for the ride.

The ride began at Hexham Maccas at 9am, with 7 people keen to go riding.

The ride headed up the highway to Cessnock to pick up Betty and Pete Ward at Sylvesters Bakery.

From there we travelled out to the vineyards onto Hermitage Road and then on to the New England Highway. We stopped at Singleton Maccas for a coffee and chat for half an hour. We then headed onto the Putty Road to Jerry Plains.  It was so funny watching John Banks trying to find a comfortable spot on his bike when we were going over the rough road. Poor Johns butt must be bruised and battered.

We arrived at the Royal Pub at Denman for a delicious lunch around midday.

After around an hour and half of relaxing/chatting John Banks decided to show us his ‘full back tattoo’ which turned us all off our lunch so we decided to head home via Lochinvar Pub for afternoon tea/chat.
